Is Security Food. Food security was defined in the lecture as the access to adequate food to all people at all times for an active and healthy life. It means that you or your family arent worried about paying for groceries where your next meal might come from or cutting back on food in order to pay the bills.
Many crop yields are predicted to decline because of the combined effects of changes in rainfall severe weather events and increasing competition from weeds and pests on crop plants. Households who consume below the minimum requirement ie 2100 kilocalorie per day as food insecure and those HHs who consume equivalent to and above the minimum requirement. But the complexity of delivering sufficient food to a national population and to the whole worlds population shows why food security is such a priority for all countries whether developing or developed.
Food security level is directly related to food availability and consumption level at HH level.
